Hit the switch to go through the barrier and you’ll be in a room with what appears to be a coral jail cell. This fast-moving adventure with strong female characters would be great for those who love a good pirate story, a touch of romance, and action-packed sword fighting. This book was a long setup for the final grand confrontation between Alosa and her father, but the ending feels rushed and everything was wrapped up way too quickly.

Alosa is like the female badass version of Captain Jack Sparrow aka the best and funniest pirate in the world.I love stories about mermaids - I'm a Ariel/Little Mermaid gal for life - but overall it was enjoyable. But the basic principle here is that you must manipulate three smaller Siren statues by hitting them with a weapon to have them match the artwork on the wall.

Men begin jumping over the railing of the second floor, crashing onto the tables and chairs of the eating area below. I glance around the room, noting the unlit lanterns hanging all along the walls, contemplating the oil resting inside.

He pulls at his bound hands, trying to free himself, and my mind is pulled back to that time two months ago when Vordan stuck me in a cage and forced me to show him all the abilities I possess, using Riden to make me comply.

Captain Jack Sparrow is lost in the Sea of the Damned, having tried to obtain a precious treasure essential in saving the Sea of Thieves from Davy Jones. I feel like the series ran it's course for me mentally and as much as I enjoyed the foray back into fantasy reads. After selling her soul to become Queen of the Wicked, Emilia travels to the Seven Circles with the enigmatic Prince of Wrath, where she’s introduced to a seductive world of vice. Instead, they just spent their time trying to figure out each other's feelings and not admitting how they were in love with each other and I am sad to say that it was annoying at times. In the first book, she had to play down her strengths, so she could steal a treasure map from another pirate 🏴‍☠️ ship. She is a very good actress, and she uses this skill while playing her part as the kidnapped princess. The storyline with pirates and sirens was interesting too, so the story had many dimensions I enjoyed.
