Their communication and ways in which they worked together in this book made me feel as if I was a proud mother. When the Olympians intervene, Persephone finds her future in the hands of ancient gods, and they are divided. Touch of Malice was updated to remove the Blessing of Light buff when the Touch of Malice perk is active.

The perk "Charged with Blight" is a pun on the "Charged with Light" mechanic introduced in Season of Dawn.

However, I do appreciate that Hades’ sidelining in this gave more space for the side characters we haven’t learned much of to exist in this story. anywho, i try not to think about it much because it's quite headache-inducing), and unleashes the Titans. I started rolling my eyes every time she got dressed for “work” because I knew she was not actually going to do anything. Honestly, I am not even disappointed that what was promised to be a trilogy is now getting at least one more book.

You also only get one opportunity per character, per week, for Touch of Malice to drop, similar to Heartshadow in Duality. Persephone and Hecate then work together to save Sybil and Harmonia, and Persephone begins to fight with her mother, who she ends up killing. I did find Hades to be sidelined quite a bit throughout this—and the romance between the two has been pretty stagnant since the end of the first book. I'm not exaggerating in the least when I say that this book had smut scenes every two to three pages for the first 88%.Demeter’s winter storm rage seemed to also be pointless filler plot, just Persephone griping about the weather and the occasional tragedy thrown in. It didn't really matter to me if the conflict was even resolved in this book, just as long as we got some answers. There’s 0 character work in this book so nothing Persephone does makes sense, Hades has been reduced to a walking erection and even Hermes who was the lighthearted antidote to the others had only one remotely funny line in the whole book.
