Lady Catherine Tisseau: A haughty, snobbish woman who insists on perfect manners and imposes them on others. It's really irritating because all the viewer observes for the majority of the film is Shelley Long working, seducing, arguing, shouting and generally being really annoying. Most of this is focused at her husband. By the time that her therapist learns that she is a multiple, the movie sort of glosses over it. Very little time is spent analysing the material or even discussing it. Maybe the director just did not comprehend the material. Nothing like the book, and nothing like reality... i know, i was there and grew up around her. She is a bad actress and I just cannot separate her from the character 'Diane' from Cheers. In fact, all of the acting is terrible. Not that Long or the other actors have much to work with. I can't think of one good performance in this horror of a film. The Woman: The "main" person, the supposed " host" and the one most commonly known as "Truddi," she was in fact created by the Troops as an empty vessel to present to the world and has no memories of her own.

It is a book that will always have a place of honor on my bookshelves because it is a book of true heroism and filled with hope. Unable to Cry: Several Troop members can't cry. Catherine is one of them, although she sometimes experiences tears in her eyes when she's writing about the past. In my experience you won't learn that from watching and/or reading of others' experience, sensationalized to sell or not.Twelve: A twelve-year-old genius capable of explaining the Troop's mechanisms and other ponderous philosophies in plain language.
