About this deal

It was fun to get to know how Captain Lee found his love for the ocean. The ghost writer did a great job capturing Captain Lee’s tone and demeanor. Loved that they did his funny one liners as titles for chapters.

I feel like my rating is probably more like 3.5 stars and it's making me realize my whole rating system is garbage. I usually rate books I don't like a 3 because writing a book seems hard (and 2 is reserved for just the worst, almost no one gets 1). I didn't dislike this book but it also doesn't seem worthy of 4 stars. In confessional, Lee explained: "I've made a lot of improvement, I've been spending every day in physical therapy and it was tough. Offering Sandy a health update, he told the outgoing captain he was "doing great" after treatment for his sciatic nerve. Great show. Lee is tough on the crew and necessary, especially regarding safety. Mistakes that endanger the crew and passengers cannot be taken lightly. I do emphasize with Captain Lee regarding the Sciatica pain and mobility problems. A very difficult to identify and treat. Long recovery and therapy help a lot!

Although Lee believed he knew Mary Anne well, he admitted he made this same mistake only once during their long relationship. He usually prefers charter jobs to private ones as he gets to meet more people & has always thought of himself as a people person. He continued: “Oh she’s going to tell you, ‘oh it’s okay, it’s okay. Just get me something for both days'. one in a couple of sentences. Book would have been much better if he had shared some of his family life, some stories about his television show.

His father, Harold Rosbach, passed away on July 9, 2002. Harold was a veteran of the United States Army in the Second World War. Coincidentally, Lee shares the name with his dad – His full name is Harold Lee Rosbach. The book tells the story of how he came to be a Captain in the first place. How he went from tradie to restauranteur to sailor and all the ups and downs in between. Of course, it is all told in his very upfront and direct manner which is amazing. The stories all have a way of leading in to each other, the way they would if you were having a long conversation with a good friends over a few frosty beers. Exactly the kind of feel you would want to get from this book. The yacht has traveled far and wide for the show cruising to the jaw-droppingly beautiful St Kitts and Nevis in season 9, the sun-kissed Caribbean in season 8 andthe South Pacificislands of Tahiti in season 6.Obviously, I wasn’t expecting this to be a ground breaking literary memoir. I wasn’t a fan of the format, the chapters seemed a bit run on. That being said, it’s what I expected and I enjoyed it.

The yacht traveled around Thailand in Season 7 where the crew and viewers were treated to a truly memorable South East Asian experience. From the iconic Phi Phi Islands to the beautiful beaches of Ko Yao Yai, there were plenty of fascinating landmarks to see on the way. Season 5 took viewers to the tranquilcruising grounds of Saint Martin whilst season 4 saw M/Y BG in the glistening waters ofthe Virgin Islands. I love how I can hear Captain Lee’s voice in this through and through. Very entertaining sea stories and I enjoyed learning a little more about a dude I like watching on TV. He’s awesome and I wouldn’t mind hanging out with him, Kate and Josiah. He seems fun! It is a light-hearted book but also a story about hard work and how money does not just grow on trees. About putting in the work and paying your dues before rising up to the 'glamour' roles. A lesson not well enough learnt these days. In confessional she explained: "I am just so grateful for their hard work, their dedication. It's like we were in the trenches together. They added: "Wish I could blame it on him having to deal with his physical condition, but he's always had a foul mouth."The series follows Lee’s journey as the captain of a multimillion-dollar yacht in the Caribbean focusing on the challenges that the crew faces and their everyday life on the boat. So glad to see this info about Capt.Lee. I have watched his show for several years, was watching when his wife joined him, and watched the pain when he lost his son. My heart goes out to him and his wife and all the rest of his family. They have gone through a lot over the past few years but know that God will carry them through it all…that is how so many of us are able to deal with life! No! This is your birthday present. This is your Valentine’s Day present. This is your birthday card. This is your Valentine’s Day card.” Some of the yachts that Lee has been a captain of include The Mustang Sally, Atlantica, Insatiable, Morganstar, Mostro, The Cuor di Leone, Ohana and Just Enough amongst many others. Thankfully, Lee’s lesson was learned and he now knows better than to treat his wife to household tools when her birthday and Valentine’s Day roll around each year.
