About this deal

Its light, compact design allows you to position the speakers in your preferred spot enhancing your listening experience. It also facilitates ease of movement and rearrangement as you see fit for you. If the D-M41DAB – which we'd again recommend pairing with the company’s designated speakers – doesn’t quite put its predecessor to shame, it certainly puts it in the shade.

The M5Ks are unusual in that they are oriented with the tweeter at the bottom and the midbass driver above. This makes them a true bookshelf design, as the alignment of the drivers will generally result in a more appropriate tweeter height when the speakers are on a bookshelf. The grilles will flip to orient the badge correctly if you want to stand them in a more traditional orientation with the tweeter above the bass driver, but this also cites the cable terminals at the top of the rear baffle, and at a slight downward angle. I see no reason not to use them as intended, as even on a pair of stands the imaging doesn’t suffer from the downward tweeter. The drivers are so close together anyway. KEF's MAT ( Meta Material Absorption Technology) innovation has been elevating the performance of its most recent speakers (the Award-winning LS50 Meta above is a prime example), so it was only a matter of time before the tech was integrated into its 2023 R Series of speakers. Sure enough, the R3 Meta standmounter features both MAT and KEF's Uni-Q driver array to great success. Perfectly complements the RCD-M41 or RCD-M41DAB within the famous D-M41 / D-M41DAB HiFi System with CD and BluetoothTraditional hi-fi speakers are also known as passive or non-powered speakers as they require a separate amplifier to power them. You can use any stereo amplifier or AV receiver, and you connect the speakers to the amplifier with dedicated speaker cable. Passive speakers do not require their own power supply. The K in the model denotes the UK manufacturing, produced in Huntingdon. The non K models, and the M50s, were made in Malaysia. The Malaysian model uses an emulsified silk dome tweeter, where the UK model uses an open mesh silk dome tweeter that I believe was manufactured by Audax. I believe the bass driver is a variant (possible direct rebadge) of the Audax HP100GO. Regardless of its origin it is a 110 mm (4 inch) driver with a polymer basket, glass-fibre cone and rubber surround. We often review bookshelf speakers by them using at least two systems – our high-end reference system, to reveal the best they can sound when fed the most accurate signals, and a more price-comparable one to see how they perform in real-world scenarios with realistic partnering equipment. Our choice of test music is varied, too, to see how pairs sound when playing a variety of different genres and styles of music. Elegant Design: Perfectly designed to complement the RCD-M41 or RCD-M41DAB within the renowned D-M41/D-M41DAB HiFi System, these speakers are the perfect blend of aesthetic appeal and stellar performance.

The speakers are front ported, and unfussy about room placement. The grilles are removable, but their mesh fabric cover is so thin there is no audible difference with the grilles in place. Incidentally the grilles of the UK model are a much nicer fit to the baffle, and have longer mounting posts. They’re a simple plastic frame design with subtle Denon (or Mission) branding. Many of the latest compact bookshelf speakers can provide an impressive combination of both power and clarity, but the inevitable weak spot for many compact speakers is their bass output. You’re never going to get big, booming bass from a set of speakers that only stands six inches high, so if you want a more powerful low-end for dance music or Max Richter’s epic electro-ambient noises, then it’s worth rearranging the bookshelves to free up a bit of space for some larger speakers. Or, if you have enough room and cash, you can spend a bit extra on a set of floor stands – or even add a subwoofer to fill in the really deep bass registers. Is there anything else I need to think about? Its compatibility with any mini-system amplifies the product's versatility, letting you take your soundscape to new heights. The 3010i are the smaller of the two, measuring just over 25cm high and 25cm deep, while the 3020i measure roughly 28cm along both sides. Both deliver a similarly refined, balanced sound, but the larger 3020i delivers deeper bass and just that bit more scale, presence and all-round wallop than the smaller 3010i can muster. We got great results even with very modest partnering equipment, so you don’t need to spend a fortune on amplification to get them sounding good. And that story continues with its latest entry-level 607 S3 speakers. The smallest and most affordable stereo speaker that B&W makes (even if that 'budget' price has increased in the last couple of years), the new 607 S3 replaces the previous Award-winning 607 S2 Anniversary Edition speakers and delivers a significantly improved performance. We think these new Mission 770 are right up there with the very best at this price, and one of the best ways to fill a large room with sound. Mission takes design inspiration from the original 770 speakers launched in the 1970s, but has improved and modernised every other element: from the cabinet design to the drivers and even new dedicated stands. Designed to function impeccably with your Denon CEOL N10 mini system, the speakers are also versatile enough to amplify your audiophile experience with any mini system. As you can see from the picture above, the LSX are simply gorgeous speakers. Put together with assistance from designer Michael Young, they are modern, elegant, and available in a variety of colours. Textured cloth surrounds KEF’s signature Uni-Q driver to give a truly pleasing aesthetic. AB31, AB32, AB33, AB34, AB35, AB36, AB37, AB38, AB41, AB42, AB43, AB44, AB45, AB46, AB47, AB48, AB49, AB50, AB51, AB52, AB53, AB54, AB55, AB56

These speakers, and their mission equivalent, were targeted toward mini component and budget hi-fi systems. The Denon versions were to be used with the UD-M5, a stereo receiver that put out 30W per channel into a 6 ohm load at a highly audible 10% THD (total harmonic distortion). That’s not a lot of power, especially given a speaker of only 86dB efficiency.Adam Audio has a reputation for delivering high-end studio monitors at a similarly high-end price, but the T5V prove that you can have your affordable cake and eat it. They’re not the smallest, lightest or most stylish bookshelf speakers around, but they deliver a superb sound for the price. It's a huge step up from the MAT-less R3 (a previous five-star model) in terms of refinement, crystal-clear vocals and dynamism. These R3 Metas are spacious, dig deep, perform admirably both at loud and low volumes (a rare talent), and are delivered with a precision and accuracy that seems to come oh-so-easily to them.
