Sarah wants to get her grandmother a present for her 80th birthday and goes to Mr Pottifer's Parlour to look for the best present she can get her gardening loving gran. This event takes places as part of Solihull BookFest - a series of action packed fun events throughout the day at The Core, organised in partnership with Bournville and Sutton Coldfield BookFests. I love the balloon-blowing unicorn, the one with a stack of doughnuts on its horn and the tiny ones that swing from pots and pans. Join Sarah as she discovers the secrets of Unicorn growing and unleashes unicorn mayhem - in this laugh out loud rhyming adventure.

The night before Grandma’s birthday, Sarah plants the unicorn seeds, but she doesn’t follow the instructions and things don't quite go according to plan. This enchanting book ends with handy instructions from Sarah on how to help children "grow" their reading skills, including using the front cover to dig for clues and feed the story with lots of imagination. The unicorns cause a fair amount of chaos, but before long we discover that a unicorn’s magical plop has a surprising result, and that there may even be a new adventure with another extraordinary creature just around the corner for us!Sarah is a brilliant character She's generous, kind, helpful and enterprising, and quick-thinking in a crisis.

This was such a captivating story with clever rhymes and lovable characters, brilliant illustrations and hilariously funny and if that wasn't enough, there's rainbow coloured unicorn poop! With multiple projects under wraps, Rachel is working with leading picture book talents, including Steven Lenton and Ella Okstad, to bring her hilarious and humorous ideas to life. Please note that these eggs take at least 24 hours of being soaked in water for the egg to start to crack. In the meantime, we will be revisiting this spectacular story and its magnificent plant parlour again and again. Steven Lenton is a multi-award-winning illustrator, originally from Cheshire, now working from his studio in Brighton.Rachel Morrisroe (Author) Rachel Morrisroe is an inventively original new voice in the world of rhyming picture books.
