Players travel from far away to Woburn for tuition with Dan for both One to One coaching and also for his Short Game School which is the most attended Golf School in the U. Maybe 2 are bunkers and of the remaining 8, maybe only 1 will be from a fairway or green fringe where I can take something like a gap wedge and play a release 1. There is also an Advanced Short Game School for those who have attended the standard Short Game School where you will get into how to play from tougher lies and master the art of Pitching. I have not read the book but this guy’s IG posts seem to be very much similar to the new way of playing the short game.

Crucially, you will also learn what shot to play where, a proven short game routine and how to 'read the lie' and select the right club and shot choice.Also, perhaps it depends on the courses you play somewhat but I find that more often than not, I appreciate having that extra loft.

Both are a mile ahead of the old Pelz short game bible which is old fashioned in what it teaches and which I found made my game worse when I originally read it.

You will learn the 3 Releases you can use around the green to give you versatility in your shot selection and crucially have a clear understanding of what shot to play where. Honestly haven't even finished the whole book yet but have spent several weeks with the basics of the first couple releases and seeing some light at the end of the tunnel finally. Whatever allows you to enjoy the game with less stress and shoot lower scores is really all that matters. Dan has also coached Charley Hull on her Short Game since she turned professional aged 16 reaching a World Ranking of 15 and winning the LPGA Tour Championship.
