Description

While driving home with his young son, Joe Lynch spies his wife’s Melisa’s car turn into a hotel parking lot.

It's the evening drive home from work, a route Joe Lynch has taken a hundred times with his young son. It's intense, insane, enthralling, and the chapters literally whiz by, helped massively by the fact that one chapter blends SO seamlessly into the next one that you just can't help but keep reading, until your eyes are incredibly sore because you've been starting at your Kindle screen for over 4 hours. Cranks up the suspense, tension, complications, revelations and twists to create a gripping, dramatic and exciting ending . Sure he was a little too trusting and naïve but pray tell, who among us has not been that, at some point or another. This song went through my head every time I picked up this book, so I thought I’d share with you all! When Joe sees his wife having a confrontation with family friend Ben, it’s the first hint that she’s been lying to him – about everything. This book managed to shock, delight, and amaze this thriller-lover with every single turn in the plot. There’s no better time to watch a slasher movie—or read a slasher book—than October, and if your idea of perfect Halloween entertainment involves villains like Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger, the book I’m recommending today is the Halloween read for you. This is a well-written debut psychological thriller with well-developed characters, and an excellent plot.

The book has already been praised as “riveting” (Megan Miranda) and “bingeworthy” (Caroline Kepnes), and it’s sure to be one of fall’s must-read crime novels.

All it takes is a week and a day for Joe to go from voluntarily approaching the police right through to his arrest for murder in what is treated as a no-body murder inquiry. When Joe Lynch stumbles across his wife driving into a hotel carpark while she's supposed to be at work, he's intrigued enough to follow her in.

On the fateful day that Joe sees his wife's car entering an underground car park, and decides to follow her, his life will never ever be the same again. After losing sight of his wife briefly Joe manages to find her inside the building talking with a family friend, only the conversation looks to be quite intense. Gripping, unputdownable and packed with twists and turns from the first page to the very last, this stunning psychological thriller will make you question whether we can ever really trust the ones we love . So while I hate to say it yet again I think this is another title that just went on a bit too long in the middle focusing on one big lie and had it moved forward a bit faster it would have maintained my attention a lot better. The problem is, we often don’t recognize when we are being lied to by our closest confidants, because we don’t want to believe they are lying. TM Logan's thrillers have sold more than two million copies in the UK and are translated into 22 other languages for publication around the world.
