Birds have been with me my entire life - from the colourful weaver birds on the banks of the Nile in Sudan to the magpies of Newcastle, from the roosting peregrine falcons near my parents' house in Northampton to the white-tailed eagles on the west coast of Scotland.

The introduction is lovely of hoe Hamza started off, the description of each bird is very detailed and great drawings, definitely a good read. He was lovely with everyone (especially the kids) and dealt with the constant attention so well, never seeming like he’d rather not interact – in fact I had to keep telling people to move on as they were having such a long chat! Hamza is a Scottish wildlife cameraman and presenter, a skilled ornithologist and the winner of the 2022 season of Strictly Come Dancing. He shares his enthusiasm and knowledge while still being relatable and I feel his joy of discovery in each page.I know how big a part birdwatching has played in his life, so I can’t wait for Hamza to share his superb stories and incredible ornithological knowledge with the world. Hamza embarked on his wildlife photography journey by assisting renowned wildlife cameraman Jesse Wilkinson on BBC nature documentaries.Just to let you know Hamza was an absolute gentleman and an amazing guest speaker, everyone loved him.
