Rich and Rox manage to address 10 adhd symptoms in the book, first from her perspective, shared with vulnerability and including tips for people with adhd on shaking off the shame, then from Rich's perspective, as the supportive NT partner. I had a hard time relating to many of the things mentioned and it really made me second guess my diagnosis. This book has really helped me express to other people in my life how I feel and understand it myself. This book is fantastic at highlighting some common ADHD behaviours, constantly reminding you of the shame said behaviours will create, and how as their partner you can reframe your way of thinking.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about themselves or those they love with ADHD. The truth is, a lot of us ADHDers struggle with 'basic' things such as personal hygiene and cleanliness (amongst other things), but this is the first time I've ever seen anyone go into real depth and talk about not only those struggles, but WHY we have them, as well as what we can do to help! So many parts of this book hit home on both Rox’s side of living with it, and Rich’s side of loving someone with it. Richard's sections have this habit of referring to the person in question with ADHD as "your ADHD-er", which just as easily could be replaced with "your labrador" or "your jack russel terrier" with regards to how someone with ADHD views the world and behaves. This book approaches ADHD in a frank and completely transparent way, showing the absolute worst parts of ADHD that people who live with the condition are often so ashamed to acknowledge, never mind admit to.The book could literally be cut in half, and it would make no difference apart from making it a shorter amd slightly more enjoyable read. Filled with heartbreak and humour in equal measure, DIRTY LAUNDRY is an invaluable resource both for neurodivergents and the people who love them. If you have ADHD - or love somebody who does - DIRTY LAUNDRY will change your life, and your relationships. Whatever the symptoms you’re dealing with, Rox and Rich’s anecdotes and advice will take the shame out of ADHD and make life more manageable for ADHDers and the ones who love them. Może jestem po prostu wrażliwszą osobą ale nie ważne jak blisko bym była z daną osobą żarty tu przytoczone w kontekście niektórych zachowań by mnie raniły.

I’d recommend this book for anyone struggling with deep despair caused by the ADHD in yourself, your relationships or your family; it’s full of hope, genuine compassion and practical tips. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has adhd or in a relationship with someone who has it. One thing you have to understand when reading this is that it's not meant to be a scientific journal or a medical textbook.

It has genuinely helpful advice from the perspective of someone with adhd and someone living with someone with adhd. It’s a minefield – and often even people within one community can have really differing views on the language they personally prefer – but I think if you’re trying to be fair and sensible and understanding – then you’re on the right path.

w jakimś stopniu to było dla mnie osobiste i pozwoliło otworzyć oczy na wiele rzeczy, ponieważ ta pozycja skupiona była w głównej mierze na relacji osoby neuroróżnorodnej z osobą neurotypową. They both have beautiful voices; I could listen to Richard's voice all day, and in that way, it does help my anxiety. the main message still shines through, 'It's not our fault, it's our neuro divergent brains' which will help everyone who listens I'm sure.

Firstly, it’s actually a self-help book for ADHDers which is really helpful to hear the stories she tells.

Getting to create content now, and reach people who may be struggling like I once did, is an absolute privilege. Self-publishing Dirty Laundry allowed us to get our message into people’s hands—that you cannot shame yourself into being someone that you like. If the message of the book wasn't so forced on the "I-know-because-I-got-diagnoses" and filled with advice that is just really bad, I would not have cared either. There are some nice tidbits of advice, and the story is well-performed, but overall this was not worth the time for the limited guidance offered. However if you want an introduction to the basics of ADHD- perhaps you're questioning whether an ADHD diagnosis fits you, or you're looking for some tips for common ADHD symptoms- then this is a good book to start with.

I've been reading it with my mom - more to help her understand me, but also to reassure myself I'm not alone with my weird quirks.
