Knox also had his share of grief and sadness he dealt with throughout the story, but the good thing that both Knox and Ava had were the support and love from their friends and family. The book cover has no visible wear, and the dust jacket (if applicable) is included for hard covers. and I was already crying so hard, I could not see through my tears but I still could not stop reading.

Knox struck me as infatuated but in denial, with a scar down the side of his face from brow to lip, he was intriguing to most of the schools female student body, and had a bleachers reputation to boot. But that all changed when her desire to be one of them left her drugged and raped and feeling destroyed. And of course, I also think about those handwritten letters folded into intricate shapes, carefully penned on college-ruled paper.

I love Ilsa Madden-Mills book and this one had all the things I like, It was really a bully romance with some added angst and I loved the relationships in this one. I loved the progression in their relationship and I absolutely swooned at their gorgeous, emotional ending. Having Ava’s perspective on everything was vital since it was centered on her and what she had gone through, but with Knox’s perspective, it gave more depth to some lingering questions I had while reading. It might seem silly to want something so simple, but for a girl like me—one who’s never had big things—it’s the little things that take up room in my heart: soft rain, starry nights, shy looks, leaves falling, a good movie, Tyler’s smile, chocolate cake—and a date with your guy. although she went through something horrific, her perseverance was so heartwarming to read that i just in awe of her.

Ava is a fighter: she had learned to fight for her and her young brother's survival while being raised by a drug addicted mother in Tennessee. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. I don't usually, if ever pick up books that are set in high school, but I read a review saying to disregard that aspect because the book is worth it, so here I am now, saying the same. These two had been through some serious crap and it made them seem so much more mature than other high schoolish books.

Knox was the more mysterious character but I loved getting to dig into him and his past and learn all about it. Join Kindle Unlimited where you have access to unlimited reading and a HUGE catalogue of romance books to choose from! Her self respect and fierce determination to take care of her brother, Tyler, were beyond admirable. Both the hero and heroine and even the hero's brother have a lot they come to terms with in this book. I also noticed this was labeled a secret admirer romance, and that was an aspect to the story, but it was underwhelming for me as far as it pertained to the romance portion of the story.

Knox is captain of the football team, has a group of popular friends, is tight with his twin brother and has more money than he could possibly need. But don’t you understand — for the longest time, you belonged to me, and I thought I belonged to you, too. I did end up figuring out who had assaulted Ava from about half way through, that person was just acting like a d**k for all of the book. As for some of the other things going on, Dane was struggling, Chance was hurt but Knox seemed like a rock (at times).

I was touched by the special love story, and even though it's about high school kids it was (mostly) mature, passionate and touching. It was such a clear picture of how mental health can play such a big role in how people react to their circumstances.

A book about rape disregarding the risks of engage in public sex especially to us women is not very good. Knox was the perfect hero, he was kind and respectful and slowly he could let Ava trust another person. Enter Knox, a brooding quarterback with a huge scar on his face, that despite his scary looks has a tormented but sweet heart. She carried herself with pose and grace while being constantly harrassed by almost everyone around her.
