In the final issue, after Batman tries to use him as bait for Killer Croc's offspring, he tries to get back at him for all the fear and troubles Batman put him in.

Liam Sharp also has a note at the beginning, saying he would draw this book in completely his own style, as Dillon would have wanted him to. There is a beast tearing through Gotham’s underground and leaving Batman’s greatest villains torn to pieces. This may be the funniest Batman book I have ever read, as well as one of my favorite Batman comics in recent memory. Then, when the baby was born, it hunted down everyone who was "marked" by the pheromone, attacking them when it turned out they weren't its real parent.

I'll leave the rest out since it's in spoiler territory, but while initially fascinating, it only muddles his history even more and possibly removes him from the playing field completely. If you’re curious to see a new take on Killer Croc and Batmans dealings with each other then this might be worth a read but otherwise you aren’t missing anything profound by leaving this one out of your collection. It isn't his normal straight pencils and inks it looks digitally painted, with inspiration possibly from Sienkiewicz, McKean and even Powell. If he just projected this image to the criminals that is one thing, but even in the moment when he is alone with his thoughts he is the same. I'm waffling whether to give it 1 or 2 stars, but it left a bad taste in my mouth, despite some sparks of creativity. It’s hard not to tell people about this series without giggling a little, which is maybe the best you can hope for from any sort of mainstream American entertainment in 2021.

Batman: Reptilian collects issues 1-6 of the DC Comics series written by Garth Ennis and art by Liam Sharp. Este quadrinho me provocou sentimentos ambíguos sobre o que os autores, Garth Ennis e Liam Sharp tentaram fazer com esta minissérie/encadernado Batman: Reptiliano. There are some humorous parts sprinkled throughout but I felt Ennis’s unempathetic Batman who would strangely just start spitting out random trivia was utterly bizarre. The answer lies in the lack of complete freedom and the mechanisms of preemptive censorship (which this review site has ruminated on before): more than once must we acknowledge the fact that the original vision of what we were supposed to see has been toned down or made unrecognizable.

In 2008 Ennis ended his five-year run on Punisher MAX to debut a new Marvel title, War Is Hell: The First Flight of the Phantom Eagle.

Liam Sharp greatly surprised me, working in a Bisley/Sienkiewicz style quite far from what he usually does. Monster Is a Mommy: Not the monster itself, but Killer Croc, who became a hermaphrodite and gave birth to it.
